The London Kensington Sinfonia is proud to present, in association with the London International Music Festival, two concerts in aid of the newly built Unicorn Theatre for children in London. Built to help introduce the next generation to the performing arts, the theatre opened in December 2005 and boasts two impressive auditoriums that present plays specifically aimed at younger children.
The LKS is pleased to be working with three young soloists: Jae Yoo; Yannis Erifillidis and Marc Corbett-Weaver, and is delighted that the actress Joanna David (a member of the Unicorn Theatre Advisory Council) will be opening the first concert in a performance of Prokofiev's charming Peter and the Wolf.
Although the two concerts are being presented for those who wish to support the Unicorn Theatre, the will be plenty of opportunity during the day for the children themselves to experience the orchestra first hand in a specially presented performance of Peter and the Wolf, narrated by the actor Alexander Gilmour .
The programme for the two concerts is as follows:
Tuesday 16th May 2006
7.30pm
Prokofiev - Peter and the Wolf (Narrator - Joanna David)
Shostakovich - Piano Concerto No. 2 (soloist - Yannis Erifillidis )

Wednesday 17th May 2006
